Questions about electrolysis

If your question is not here, just ask Ramya on WhatsApp or Instagram. She is happy to explain.

Is electrolysis permanent?

Yes. Electrolysis treats the growth cells of each follicle, so a treated follicle stops producing hair. It is the only method the US FDA allows to be marketed as permanent hair removal. Hormones can activate new follicles over the years, which may need an occasional touch-up.

Does electrolysis hurt?

You feel a quick warm or stinging sensation at each hair, lasting a moment. Most clients find it very manageable and many say it is gentler than threading. Ramya works at your pace and you can pause at any time.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the area, how many hairs there are and how thick they are. Hair grows in cycles, so an area is cleared over a series of sessions spread across a few months, sometimes longer for dense or hormonal hair. Ramya gives you a plan at your consultation.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the area and how much time it needs, so Ramya shares it after a short consultation. Message her on WhatsApp or Instagram to arrange one.

Does it work on white and grey hair?

Yes. Unlike laser, electrolysis does not depend on hair colour, so it works on white, grey, blonde, red and black hair, on every skin tone.

Can I thread or wax between sessions?

Please don't. The hair needs to be there to be treated at the root. Trimming with small scissors is fine.

What happens to my skin afterwards?

Some redness or small raised dots are normal and usually settle within a few hours. Keep the area clean, avoid makeup, steam and strong sun for a day, and follow the aftercare Ramya gives you.

Is electrolysis good for PCOS facial hair?

Electrolysis treats every hair that grows, including fine and light hairs that laser misses, so many women with PCOS choose it. While hormones are active, new hairs may keep appearing and are treated as they come. It works best alongside your doctor's care.

Where is Ramya located?

In Kondapur, Hyderabad, by appointment only. It is close to Gachibowli, Madhapur and Hitech City. The exact address is shared when your appointment is confirmed.

Is electrolysis the same as microblading?

No. Microblading adds pigment strokes to make brows look fuller and fades over time. Electrolysis permanently removes unwanted hair to create a clean shape. Some people use both.

Still wondering about something?

Start with a consultation. Ramya looks at your hair, explains the process and the likely number of sessions, and shares the price. By appointment only.
