Why "permanent" means different things
Laser devices are cleared for permanent hair reduction: fewer, finer hairs over time. Electrolysis treats the growth cells of each follicle so that follicle stops growing hair, which is why it is the only method the US FDA allows to be marketed as permanent hair removal.
When electrolysis is the better choice
- Your unwanted hair is white, grey, blonde or very fine.
- You want a precise eyebrow shape that never needs threading again.
- Laser reduced your hair but some keeps coming back, especially on the chin or upper lip.
- Your hair growth is hormonal and you need every hair treated, not only the dark ones.
When laser may suit you
For large areas of dark hair on lighter skin, such as legs, laser is quicker. Some people use laser first to reduce the bulk and electrolysis afterwards to finish the remaining hairs. Ramya is happy to talk this through honestly at a consultation.
What Ramya's clients say
Several of Ramya's clients came to her after laser. One had spent a lot on laser and medication for hormonal facial hair, only to see the growth increase; electrolysis with Ramya gave her the result she wanted. Read the reviews.
